The Winter Piper eco-friendly greetings card

The Winter Piper eco-friendly greetings card

This A6 4 x 6 inch artist-made greetings card features a piper in a red coat playing a haunting melody in a frosty holloway. The design is made from an original acrylic painting on a piece of birch wood which was part of my November 2014 Winter Wanderings exhibition.
( You can also find the art print here http://www.holaweg.com/product/the-winter-piper-art-print ).
The design is printed on thick 320gsm oatmeal coloured recycled card  with fine inclusions, which gives a lovely warm and earthy handmade aesthetic to the designs. The card is blank inside for your own message and comes with a high quality recycled manilla envelope, packed inside a biodegradable clear protective bag.

My greeting cards are as eco-friendly as  I can possibly make them!
  • I print all my cards myself  in very small batches onto high quality,  100% recycled card, which is derived mainly from post-consumer waste.  My cards are not coated with any kind of plastic which means they stay completely recyclable.
  • The 100gsm manilla envelopes  are also 100% recycled from 'low grade' ( ie the greenest) post consumer waste. These are not dyed or bleached using any chlorine and the glue on the flap is vegan friendly.
  •  The clear  protective packaging  bags I use are fully biodegradable and compostable as they are made from corn and potato starch. This means they will  break down to CO2 and water which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants, whether  they are  composted at home or sent to commercial composting or landfill with your household rubbish. (But please compost them at home if you can!) Even the information stickers on the bags are biodegradable and don't contain plastic.
  • The cards, envelopes & protective packaging I use is made here in the UK thus making my carbon footprint a little lower.
  • And finally, the packaging I use to send your cards in ( ie mailer envelopes/boxes) is made from recycled materials.
I'm always looking for ways to be greener and continue to improve the way I make things whenever I can.
