Celtic Hare recycled silver pendant

A little hare sits gazing at the full moon and a single star. On its flank it wears the symbol of the Triskele. The hare was a sacred and mystical animal to the Celts, with connections to the Otherworld and shapeshifting. The Triskele is one of the oldest Irish Celtic symbols in existence, and represents the three worlds; celestial, physical, and spiritual, as well as the three domains of earth, water, and sky.

The pendant :
- measures approximately 3.5cm x 1 cm
- is made from fine & sterling silver
- hangs from an 18 inch, 925 sterling silver rolo chain which fastens with a spring ring clasp. The chain can be shortened or substituted for a long black silken cord - just let me know at checkout.

The little fine silver hare, silver moon circle and rounded star have each been painstakingly sanded by hand to a smooth finish, textured with a hammer and metal punches, and detailed with a dark oxidising patina. They are then polished with microcrystalline wax to protect the finish and to slow down tarnishing. They have been carefully formed from precious metal clay, a material which offers a more eco-friendly alternative to mined silver as it uses reclaimed silver. The moon circle and jump ring are made from sterling silver.

Care - Silver naturally tarnishes and care should be taken to avoid contact with liquids and perfumes. This piece is best cared for by gently polishing with a polishing cloth such as the one you'll find included with your order, being careful not to press too deeply into the indentations so as to preserve the dark oxidised detailing!
